Build It
The Erwt comes as kit of parts (circuit boards, motors and electronics) which you can assemble into a complete robot.
Only simple tools are required, and basic soldering experience is helpful (it's easy to learn!). Assembly takes about 1 hour.
You will build and learn about the following features of the robot:
- DC motors and drive circuitry
- A bump sensor (to sense obstacles)
- Two light sensors
- Three line following sensors
- A beeper and LEDs
- USB interface circuitry
Program It
The Erwt can be connected to your Mac or PC via a USB cable allowing you to send it commands or download programs to run on its own.
Programming is simple in the Erwt environment with a simple language that provides a number of standard functions to control the robot.
The Erwt can also carry a pen, allowing you to write programs to draw complex patterns.
